TAKING UP YOUR SEAT OF LIFE

“For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” --Jeremiah 29:11
Have you ever felt like you’ve been booted from your seat of life or perhaps you have relinquished it in fear of failure and inadequacy?

Are you seated where you are destined, are you seated comfortably, feeling empowered or are you languishing in doubtful worthiness to the throne?

Where are you in relation to your destined seat in life?

“There are people occupying our seats preventing us from enjoying our show in life. God gave us the tickets at birth, our number was already preprinted on the seat and on the ticket but we’ve allowed someone to sit in our seat and control our destiny. It’s time to be proactive and call the Usher “The Holy Spirit” to come and remove them from our seat and have them escorted out of the building. And once the Usher has escorted them out, do not go out there and bring them back in. Take up your seat of life.” – Oswald (Ossie) Gould (Nov 30, 2012)

    1. Indeed it is, as God has provided such seats for us all, we have but to own it!

  4. Personally, I think there's adequate seating for everyone, but sometimes we give up our chair for a seat in the dirt because we don't feel worthy.

    1. Ah....you are so absolutely right, this is why knowing and understanding our worth is key to keep our thorn.

      Thank you.

  5. You hit the nail on the head.
We can't call them back in after the Holy Spirit has taken them away.
Sometimes guilt wants us to do that. But, that is false guilt

  8. In your comment on my blog, you suggested that I come look at this tribute blog for your Ossie. Thank you. I'm glad you did.

I read all of the posts here, and they paint the picture of a wonderful (and wise) man with a courageous heart and deep faith, and also of a wonderful woman who continues to honor him. Beautiful. Just beautiful.

  9. Hi again. I wanted to include this quote in yesterday's comment, but wanted to make sure I got it right. (It was written down in my office, and my lazy tush was in another room.) Now, I'm in my office.

You've included a quote from Rabindranath Tagore with some of the comments you've left on my blog, and after reading through the posts in this blog, I was reminded of one. It's my favorite, and one I've used often to comfort other people: "Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come."
